Santiago Ezquerro is strong, experienced player who made his debut with Osasuna at 18 when the Pamplona-based side were in the second division.
After making his first appearance during the 1994-95 season, the Rioja-born forward earned a move to top flight side Atletico Madrid.
After spending two seasons at El Calderon, Ezquerro enjoyed a loan spell with Mallorca before moving to Athletic Bilbao, the club where he made his name. During his seven years at San Mames saw him evolve into a star and he went on to become one of the players with the most games under his belt in the Spanish top flight.
Ezquerro was a regular in the side and gained European experience as Athletic enjoyed campaigns in both the Champions League and the Uefa Cup. His arrival at Barcelona for the start of the 2005-06 season strengthens the squad immensely as gives the side more options in attack.
Santi Ezquerro made his FC Barcelona debut in 2005 in the second match of the league campaign against Mallorca. In his first season at the club he appeared in 11 league games and 4 in Europe. He scored 4 goals in all competitions, and was an integral part of the double winning side.
